No replacement for soothing protection spray

I was advised to try the ultra calming mist when the soothing protection spray was discontinued. Im sad to say it was no replacement, a completely different product. The soothing protection spray did what it said on the bottle 'soothed' and 'protected' the skin. It was also very hydrating, spraying a barrier shield that was slowly absorbed by the skin.Dermalogica - you excelled yourselves in producing a toner that was unlike anything else available on the market. The ultra calming mist #hailed as its replacement# is more like your regular toner; fine at best, but not soothing or protecting. I managed to buy up some left-over bottles of the soothing protection spray online when it was discontinued but my supply has finally reached an end.
And so, a plea - so many customers would love to see the protection spray reinstated. Please, please read the numerous reviews online applauding the original soothing spray. It would mean so much to us to see it back on the shelves.

Please please bring back soothing protection spray, it was a great product, this product does not come close. Why did you stop producing it and when will you listen to your customers?

Bring Back Soothing Protection Spray!!!

Date:January 22, 2013

Please, please, please bring back Soothing Protection Spray!!! This just doesn't compare - I wouldn't even say it's as moisturising as the multi-active toner - the description sounds fine but there's no soothing/ no moisturising. My skin is deteriorating daily, I am so angry I spent my hard earned money on this. I have been a loyal Dermalogica customer for years and your products have created wonderful skin for me. So why would you do this? Please listen to your other loyal customers and bring back Soothing Protection Spray. It was perfect. One spray and my skin was instantly drenched and happy. I now have small lumps coming up on my forehead and my face is getting redder and redder (exactly what this new spray says its stopping) and it just doesn't feel right - it doesn't feel moisturising, my skin isn't happy wearing it. It's just so wrong to delete a product like you have that people have been using for years. I will now have to look elsewhere for another product, and there was just no need. Please explain to me why you've done this.

Was very disappointed after using this product. It doesn't compare to the Soothing Protection Spray. A waste of money.

Do Not Skip This Toner!!

Like most of the users of the Ultracalming products, my skin is (was!!) red, reactive and acne prone. I also had red, dry, scaly patches on my forehead and around my nose.
I am also a serious doubter. I have tried nearly every brand of skincare, including lots and lots of toners which did nothing but sting and cause more redness (and those were the ones for sensitive skin- ha!).
This toner feels wonderful, it is slightly cooling for me and there is absolutely no sting. At all. Once I added this step to my cleansing/ Ultracalming serum and moisturizing routine, the red patches cleared up within days. I had had these red patches for months! And once they were gone they never came back.
I have found that this toner also helps the Ultracalming Serum go on so much more evenly, and that I ultimately use less Serum, saving me money.
And the acne- that's gone too, for the most part. I credit that to healthy skin, which I finally got from Dermalogica.

once again i tried this once while at Ulta during a treatment and fell in love with it. having sensitive skin i immediately noticed the difference when this was spritzed onto my skin. i carry this in my bag at all times to reduce redness or calm irritation. i spray it on at night and in the morning and the amount of redness that leaves my skin is unbelievable! yet another dermalogica product that goes above and beyond my expectations. one of my go to products that never leaves my bag!

Helps with eczema, psoriasis and other flare ups!

My father has always complained about his nose and cheeks burning and often giving him difficulties after being outside in the heat or cold too long. Now that he is in his 60s he has come to live with these issues. However, when I came across this product I decided to give it to him to try. He called me the next day and said "I have no pain! This product is serious..I have never come in from outside without suffering." He swears by it and raves to all his friends about it constantly (they are quite possibly sick of hearing about it by now)! But you should try it if you are suffering from any type of flare ups, sensitivity or irritation! Or call my dad.. he will tell you about it for hours!

Oh, what a disappointment!

Date:June 29, 2012

I searched every salon that sells your product for the Soothing Protection Spray that was replaced by your Mist. What a heartbreak not to find it. I think your Mist is such a waste of money as it is drying, non-moisturizing, and does not even began to compare with the Soothing Protection Spray. Why would you quit such a great product?

Please bring back Soothing Protection Spray

I was introduced to Dermalogica products by a girlfriend around 8 years ago. I loved the Soothing Protection Spray and have used it ever since - so refreshing and so effective in moisturising my skin, particularly after shaving. I was astounded to recently find that it had been discontinued and in desperation ordered the Ultracalming Mist, which was offered as a replacement product. Ultracalming Mist is disappointingly poor in comparison. It does not refresh. It does not moisturise. My skin feels tight and dry after I have used it and with a slight burning sensation and redness. Please can you explain why Soothing Protection Spray has been discontinued and will you please consider relaunching it, as there seems to be a groundswell of customer opinion urging you in this direction.

This is very disappointing as an "improved" version of the mist. The soothing protection spray left a slight film on the skin to lock in moisture. The new mist just does not offer the same level of hydration. Please bring back the old one!

I would give this product zero stars if I could. Unfortunately the amazing Soothing Protection Spray has been discountinued and this is its replacement. What a disapointment! This actually aggravates my skin and makes it feel tight and dry. The Soothing Protection Spray was amazing and gave a protective, moisturizing barrier. I find that the Barrier Repair cream is not as effective on my skin using this product with it. Lets hope that if enough people write poor reviews on this product they will bring the Soothing Protection Spray back

I used these products about 10 years ago and wanted to get the mist again because I loved the way it smelled. Sadly disappointed to learn this is a new formulation without that great smell. Maybe I can try the other one next time...this one has the faint smell of paint. REALLY DISAPOINTED!!!

Please bring back the Soothing Protection Spray...

I converted over to Dermalogica in desperation about a year ago after being recommended by a friend. I used to suffer from itchy, red patches of skin on my face and the Soothing Protection spray sorted it out....believe me when I say I have tried everything on the market from £5 - £50.
With the amount of people I have recommended Dermalogica too I should probably be on commission!
On a more serious note I moved over to Ultracalming mist last month and the itchy red skin on my face came back within days. After consulting with Dermalogica I've been advised to try all the other Ultracalming products (which I already use) and still no help :( . The Ultracalming mist feels like just spraying water on my face, it doesn't maintain any moisture levels in my skin and certainly doesn't calm it. Also I'm not keen on the smell either.
A week ago I stocked up on more of the Soothing Protection spray and guess what? My skin is looking clear, calmed and radiant once again. I'm now a little worried as my supply will only last me 6 months or so.....Dermalogica please please bring back the Soothing Protection spray.
A loyal and loving customer
Kieron

Please bring back the Soothing Protection Spray. For years I struggled with itchy red patches on my face and nothing worked - until I found the Soothing Protection Spray. It was the only thing that worked. And then it was discontinued for some reason. I was told the Ultracalming mist was meant to replace the soothing spray... and guess what... the itchy, red patches are back. Nice one, Dermalogica!
