So i keep raving about dermalogica to my friends and family to the point where they are all annoyed. I have never had skin so perfect and clear since before I hit puberty. I use the preclense, the special cleansing gel and the microfoliant. Its the perfect system in my opinion no matter what skin type you have. My skin is so clear it looks like I am wearing make up and it even looks fake. I really feel so comfortable not wearing make up, my skin always feels flexible, it never feels dry, and my skin tone is so even. You can feeeeeeeeel the difference with theses products because there are no chemicals used to clean your skin. I never feel like there is residue sitting on my skin after cleaning it, i even noticed that my products last about a year each. I can't get over how perfect, evenly toned, vibrant, clean, clear and smooth my skin is. not just feels but is.

A Classic Essential Cleanser!

As important as a little black dress to one's wardrobe, is Special Cleansing Gel to my daily skin care! After using PreCleanse, I lather my skin with Special Cleansing Gel and after rinsing, I feel like an artist with a fresh new palette! Awesome little cleanser! It washes away any oil & debris and leaves my skin feeling awesomely clean, soft, and supple! Our family keeps a travel size by every sink and shower because the whole family loves, Loves, LOVES it!!!

No More Ashamed Pores

Let me tell you about my love life. Over the past decade or so, I haven't found been able to find love anywhere within the cleansing department. The cleansers on the shelves at my nearest department store routinely broke my heart. Didn't live up to my expectations. Contained fragrances, colors, beads and more. None of them were my type. What can I say? I'm picky like that.
But don't get me wrong: there were times when I thought that things could work out. Cleanser after cleanser made promise after promise. One time, I thought for sure that I found a cleanser that could give me everything I needed, but it turns out that by the end of the day, my skin felt oily and my pores felt ashamed.
It wasn't until my lovely mother took it upon herself to find me the best of the best. Top of the line. You can call it an arranged marriage, if you want (I won't be offended). I'm proud to report that I did fall in love--I fell in love with Dermalogica's Special Cleansing Gel and no longer do I peruse department store shelves. This is it, friends. This is it.
This gel is so polite. Easy on my skin, you know? It also does not have bad odor. In fact, it's fragrance-free. We get along well; people have been complimenting me a lot lately! I express my happiness by simply saying that Special Cleansing Gel treats me well. That's my motto: "S.C. Gel treats me well!" I've even yelled it out of my bathroom window once.
Here's what I have to say to all of you frustrated, perfect-cleansing-product seekers: the good news is, you could fall in love with S.C. Gel, too. Whether your mother arranges it or you make the first move, this gel will be waiting for you.

Gently effective!

I have been using the Special Cleansing Gel for about two years and I am extremely happy with this product. I have sensitive skin and this product works gently to wash away the day's grime. My face always feels so clean and soft afterwards. I use the daily microfoliant a few days a week after cleansing for that "just- had-a-facial" feeling.

A good cleanser is hard to find. For years I had problem with skin redness. After searching high and low and trying a myriad of other products I finally took the advice of a friend and went to Dermalogica for a facial. After being recommended this cleanser I fell in love. The redness was gone and my skin felt like it was back in balance. I couldn't be happier with this product. If I could snuggle with it at night I probably would....guess you still need a good man for some things!

I have been using Special Cleansing Gel for 12 years and I still love it. I became an Esthetician 4 years ago and have tried many many different products that have been available to me professionally and I still go back to SCG every time! Easy on your skin, non-irritating, takes off eye makeup oh so easily and leaves your skin wonderfully soft. I have recommended it to family, friends and clients over and over and will continue to do so. PLEASE never stop making it!

i love special cleansing gel so much i want to marry it! not really, but then i would have it forever! seriously, this cleanser is a god send, because i have never found another cleanser that does exactly as it says it will. my skin is extremely oily and, on occasion, very sensitive. when i first used this, all i got was clean, smooth skin, without any side effects and, most importantly, people started guessing my age at ten years younger than i actually am! i love the double cleansing routine, because you know you're getting all the gunk out of your skin, perfect for your folllowing treatments. another thing i love about this cleanser is that it doesn't seem to dry out your skin. i could use this 5 times a day and it would be no different than if i just used this once a day. usually, my skin would get really tight and uncomfortable, not with SCG(my name for special cleansing gel). now that i've listed all the ways this will change your life, all i can say is that everyone should use this, if only just to try it, because then you'll wonder how you lived without it for so long!

Clean but not dry

Over the last few years my sensitive skin has changed and become a little on the dry side. This product is great because it cleanses down deep to get all the irritants off of my skin while leaving the moisture I need. I can see myself using this product forever. I just keep the pump in my shower and it couldn't be more convenient. It works, the price is reasonable, and it lasts a long time. Great quality. Perfect for changing skin types.

I went to the dermatologist for years for my skin being inflamed, full of acne, and highly sensitive, they gave me some about 5 different products with a very complicated regimen. It really never seemed to work for me so I went to school for skin care and my instructor recommend this product with 2 other products from Dermalogica and within a week I noticed my skin was repairing itself, less red and brighter than ever before. This was unreal to me so I gave my mom the same cleanser because she had blackheads like crazy so I wanted to see if it was something that would work for her also. Now when I give her a facial I noticed the exact same changes in her skin as mine, she has less acne then ever. I recommend this product and any of the Dermalogica products to all my friends and even give them samples to see for themselves and so far I have not gotten any bad feed back from anyone who I gave a sample too. These products to me, are some of the best on the market I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a change in their skin with a simple regimen.

I've used other face washes but none ever left my face feeling TRULY clean, until this one! After using this cleanser paired with the Daily Microfoliant, my skin feels clean, tight, and glows. I can't stop feeling how smooth my face is after every wash! All the other popular face washes left my face still feeling like there was a layer of oil/other impurities, but the gel cleanser creates a nice foam and gets the oils and dirt off- it even removes your eye make up! I never write reviews, but I cannot stress how happy I am with this product! Thank you Dermalogica!

I was a faithful Neutrogena clear facial bar user. I received this as a gift and I have been amazed at it's effectiveness. I teach Spinning classes, so sometimes I am using this two and three times a day. It is so gentle and non-drying. I love it!

I have been using Special Cleansing Gel for over 10 years. I will try other products, some cheaper, some more expensive, but I always come back. It leaves my skin so smooth, not dry, no residue or greasy feeling. Blemishes clear up and overall feel and appearance improve after just a few days of using it!

I have used this product with quite some time now combined with other Dermalogica products and must say how great it was. However, after purchasing a new bottle I was horrified to find that after 2 uses my face is on FIRE! My skin is extremely red, painful and dry and feels hot to the touch. I can see from the other reviews that I am not the only person affected.
I'm not sure I will be purchasing expensive products again from this company.

I switched to Dermalogica recently from Pro-Activ and I was a bit nervous at first but this cleanser was amazing. So gentle on my skin and my skin is so soft after using it. I highly recommend.

I have recently bought this after having a skin consultation. I've been using the daily microfoliant which is absolutely brilliant. Since using the special cleansing gel I have developed patches of dry skin, mainly on my forehead and towards my nose, under my eyes. I feel disappointed as it's quite a large bottle and am perservering in the hope that I don't have to stop using.

I have been using this product for ages, and am extremely disappointed with what ever changes you've made. I have spent alot of money on Dermalogica products over time and am thoroughly discontented with the product that i have received. This is not the brand that it used to be and has certainly gone way down in my estimations. Unless i receive a better product from Dermalogica in the future, with i hope, a smaller price tag due to this huge dissatisfaction, I shall most definitely not be buying Dermalogica products again; and will urge friends and relatives to do the same.

I have used this product for years and loved it. I bought a new bottle and for the last week my skin has been so dry and rough, is it due to the new ingredients? I am not happy at all. I am going to have to buy a new/different face wash. This was a waste of my money and such a shame. I used to love this product!

Why the change??!

I tried a sample bottle and really liked it a lot as I see immediate improvement to my skin condition and hence decided to buy a 250ml special cleansing gel. I immediately noticed the different in smell as compared to the sample which I tried earlier on. After using a few days, I started getting more breakouts than usual as well as redness on my cheeks and got to find out about the change in ingredient to this product on your website. I am so disappointed to learn about this as I thought I finally found a product that is suited for my skin condition.
Now i am stuck with the new bottle which I'm afraid to continue using. Can I request for a refund/exchange of product? And could you please revert to the old formula?

I used this formula a couple years ago when I worked my way thru a large size bottle and was very happy with the results. Recently, I have been suffering from allergies and breakouts and my doctor suggested that I go towards fragrance free, paraben free products. I bought a large bottle of my beloved Special Cleansing gel and not only did it aggravate my sensitive skin but it leaves a thin slimy film that doesn't feel like it washes off cleanly. I am sorely disappointed! This stuff is not cheap either. I have trusted Dermalogica in the past, but probably not going back to this brand again.
