I've never really owned a skin care product that I couldn't wait to put on my face every morning. Just the feel--yes, the very feel--of Clearing Mattifier being applied to my skin is what has me addicted.
I love how this Clearing Mattifier works to prevent my T-Zone from getting oily throughout the day. It is also useful in terms of working in conjunction with my makeup: it’s a nice foundation, to say the least.
Clearing Mattifier does its job and does it well. I know for certain that I won't stop using this product anytime soon; it makes my skin feel soft and new!

The clearing mattifier is the first dermalogica product I bought. The first week of use it was just unbelievable. I could go 10 or so hours and only start to look a little dewy. Then it just seemed to stop working for me. I was as shiny as ever and you could see the oil busting thru.
I bought the medicac clearing kit, and the mattifier is working its miracles again. I was getting cystic breakouts and deep scarring. I was ready to see a dermatologist, but it is no longer necessary.
The mattifier minimizes my pores, scarring and the blackheads are greatly reduced. They are not jumping out at you anymore!
I have extremely oily skin, lots of congestion and a nose that is covered in blackheads. This mattifier is incredible. It has also taken care of the fine lines.
I cannot say enough about this product and am loving the entire line. I recently bought new cosmetics-I will be returning them!

It is hard to give it a rating when the product peels/rolls off my skin when I try to put on makeup. Am I missing some key to making this stick to my skin? I love the feeling of my skin right after I put this on until I try to put anything over it and it peels off and I have to try and dust off all of the peeling product...

This is a must have for my skin in the summer!! My face looks great even through the mugginess and i don't have to constantly wipe my face or worry about my make-up "melting" off. PLUS it has pretty much banished the blackheads on my nose...i honestly never thought they would go away. Thank you Dermalogica!!

This is a great mattifier. It really does keep the oil at bay. I gave it 4 stars though because when I apply it, sometimes it can ball or roll up on the edges of where I apply it. I haven't been able to figure out how to stop this from happening. Other than that...this leaves me matte for hours.

Oily skin is like a back handed compliment....the compliment: "Oh oily skin is a good thing, it keeps your skin looking young with less wrinkles." Back end of this compliment: "but you do look like a bit of an oil slick." Greatttttt....Let me tell you, I don't enjoy dabbing my face with tissue every 5seconds, so I don't appear to be a wax sculpture on the loose. But this stuff, this awesome mattifier, it gets the job done. It exterminates my face oil, like a flea dip exterminates creatures on fido. If this doesn't get a little dab, dab, spread &cover, 30min later my face looks like I rubbed a little butter on after my makeup application. I've tried a few primers & oil mattifiers that didn't get the job done, this one works....and I will keep coming back for this little tube of heaven.

I used this at first as part of my MediBac kit. Then I found some other uses for it! Besides working wonderfully to reduce shine and make my skin look less oily, it also makes a great makeup primer. I have said before I have REALLY oily skin, especially my T-zone, but I'll go a step further and say sometimes even my eyelids get oily!! Could you imagine!? My eye shadow sometimes looks smeary or cakey because of it, but I tried the mattifier on my eyelids and it actually helped the eye shadow go on smoother and stay put longer! Who would've thought!?!? Love it! AND, a little goes a long way with this one! There is quite a bit of product in that little tube, you just have to squeeze. =]

At the time, I am currently stationed where dirt is a daily factor. My face required constant attention back in the States and I feared that being in a country that didn't have any beauty luxuries would ruin what little esteem I have after learning of my physical condition PCOS, that keeps my skin on constant break out. There are no worries or concerns because of this product. Wouldn't use anything else... ever!

I have been looking for years for something to control my oily face and I finally found it. This works perfectly under the oil control lotion and lasts all day. I was worried that it would cause more break outs but I have been using this for a few weeks now and I can't live without it!

I've been through so many primers but they all leave me a oily mess. The silicone base of this product does the work of a primer. It prevents future breakouts and banishes shine, keeping your makeup in place. Love it, can't do without it!

Great for Skin with Acne Scars and Blemishes

Several people with acne buy makeup primers and a daytime topical gel, but I don't need to with Clearing Mattifier-- it acts as both. I use it after the Clearing Skin wash and before the Oil Control Lotion. The nylon ingredient in the product acts as a wonderful pore concealer as well as a scar concealer (for those of us with deep-set acne scars). This product helps to fight breakouts throughout the day while allowing makeup to evenly cover any imperfections on the face. All in all, it's a win-win situation.
I recommend completely drying your face before appyling the Clearing Mattifier, as it will not absorb into your skin well unless it is completely dry.

Clearing Mattifier is wonderful for those who rely on makeup to conceal blemishes, scars, and large pores. The nylon in the product in a sense "fills in" uneven textures of your skin, minimizing the appearance of scars and enlarged, deep-set pores. For me, it acts as a topical gel for acne that does not make blemishes even more red, like most medically-based topical gels prescribed at the dermatologist. It helps tremendously in applying makeup evenly all over your face, especially in areas you'd like to cover-just like a primer. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is currently being affected by acne or has scars to prove that it has affected them in the past.

This is my new fave! Especially in the summertime, but year-round I use this as my treatment + primer underneath my daily make-up. It keeps my skin clear, but helps to refine my large, oily pores and also keeps my make-up set through most of the day. Highly recommended!!!

omg!! i hav suffered from seborrheic dermatitis since i was fifteen!! although this is a dry skin condition with all the creams and lotions I use to keep it under control I have always needed to use a mattifier to reduce shine!! until recently I used a clinique product that did the trick!! but they decided to discontinue it, thanks for that clinique!! I then tried a number of alternative products, seven to be exact, which all seemed to cause me discomfort and irritation!! my ezcema suddenly flared up due to an allergic reaction to one of the products!! I have just about recovered and have started using dermalogica clearing mattifier. It has so far done the trick!! and hasnt caused any inflammation or irritation!! it really is a god send, thank you soo much dermalogica!!

I have always suffered from an oily T-zone but it has been getting progressively worse and I started to also suffer from breakouts on my cheeks as well. Having having a mini dermalogica facial that I received as a present I received a sample of the mattifier as a 'try before you buy'. It's fantastic! The sample lastest me over a week as you only need a tiny amount each time and my skin has been oil free! I work long 12-13 hour days in a hot car dealership constantly running around and not once was my skin shiny or greasy. My sample ran out and yesterday I has to use my old regular moisturiser etc and I now have break outs! Absolutely gutted and am now heading out to buy my first tube! I can only say once you try it you won't be able to find anything better, it really is the best investment.

i tried a sample of this product with high expectations. i love how it feels silicone based. it worked effectively on my cheeks/nose forehead area, worked great as a makeup base and did help to control shine throughout the day. i did find however that it slightly burned my upper lip upon application and as a few hours passed i had developed a few small red patches on my upper lip. my upper lip and around my mouth is an area where i always had problems with breakouts so initially i had no hesitation to put the product in this area.
i would give this product another try but i would be extra careful to avoid areas that i feel are more sensitive.
