I use this as a day moisturiser before applying make up and it works a treat! Reduces oiliness (doesn't get rid of it completely, however I am yet to find a product that does!) but this certainly helps. Also helps to keep my skin spot-free and blemish free. Really good substitute to moisturiser if you feel that it's too heavy for day use. Lightweight formula that last a long time because a little goes a long way

I've been using this product for about 6 months, more or less. From late summer and through the dry winter, I think I've come to like the oil control lotion less and less. This lotion is indeed light, but note that after you apply it DO NOT continue rubbing it into your skin. The lotion needs to air dry on its own because continuous rubbing into the skin causes it to roll/flake off your skin.
I am oily pretty much everywhere on my face, in some spots more than others. It is definitely not hydrating enough for my drier spots. I have noticed my cheeks and forehead get shiny throughout the day though. I'm not sure how to explain it, its not hydrating enough but at the same time it doesn't help with the shine neither. Specifically...during the summer when I used this product, my face seemed hydrated enough, but was shiny. Now during the winter, I'm experiencing some ashy-ness and continued shine.
I use the oil control lotion with the dermal clay cleanser.

Kudos to Dermalogica for creating a product that rids of oil so well. I tend to use this oil control lotion on humid days and it has consistently exceeded my expectations.
Compare me to a vehicle, if you will: my face received an oil change simply by using this product.

If you're like me you have oily skin. So oily that blotting papers or sheer powders don't cut it; especially on my forehead.
I used the skin smoothing cream for a long time after being told the importance of moisturizing. I was discouraged because I liked the skin smoothing cream but didn't like how heavy and oily it left my skin feeling. I then switched to the Active Moist, which was good, but still didn't come close to the Oil Control Lotion.

Its not lying... it really is oil controlling. I swear by this and use it every morning, paying extra attention to my T-zone. I was also informed (I don't know why I didn't think of this) that I can combine moisturizers! I can use the oil control lotion on my Tzone and use active moist on the rest of my face! Genius!!

This oil control lotion is so amazing! My forehead gets a little oily sometimes and I use a little bit of this and no more shiny oily forehead! It lasted all day and I never needed any excess oil tissues!

This is by far the worst thing I have ever put on my face. Had very mild acne and in 1 week of using this my face was covered in acne! please dont use this!

I've bought the oil control lotion twice. I really like this light moisturizer, but if I use if in the morning an hour or two later flakes of the moisturizer are falling off my face? Has lead to a couple of people telling me I had something all over my cheeks. So I like to use this product at home or before bed.

I have been using this product for years and I can't live without it. My skin feels hydrated but not heavy after I use this. I have tried other types of moisturizers that were cheaper and easier to get but I always keep coming back to this one.

I've been using this product for several months, and I really like it. I have rosacea, and this non-irritating lotion provides light moisturizing while controlling the oil so I get fewer tiny pimples . The only place I can't use it is around my nose, which is so oily that any amount of moisturizer is too much.

i have been using this lotion for about a month now, and couldnt be happier, i have naturally oily skin which used to show through the thickest make up, but this provides me with a longlasting matte finish and helps make up stay on longer also. you feel it work as soon as you apply it and a little goes a long way. great stuff :)

As has been said by someone else I did not find this product to control my shine for very long, maybe an hour max. I was beginning to think I must have uber greasy skin cause all other reviews say its brilliant. I carried on using it every day but have since found the answer is to use the 'clearing mattifier' first and then it gave me a nice ungreasy skin for a good 4/5 hours which for me is amazing.

I use other Dermalogica products from the medibac clearing line and they all work so well. However, this oil control lotion does not control my oil whatsoever. After an hour of putting it on, the oil on my face still comes through this lotion. I've tried putting this alone in the morning without anything else on and it did not control my oil and did not give me a matte finish. I was so disappointed because other products works like a miracle for me. So sad! My skin is more dry but during the summer time my face gets oily and I used this on my t-zone and cheeks and unfortunately I cannot stick with this product. I wish it worked for me but it did not for some odd reason.

This product certainly works to provide enough moisture and doesn't clog (like my previous moisturizers would). I use barrier repair along with it to help keep the moisture in and aide in make-up application.

For as long as I can remember, my skin has been shiny and my large pores could attest to it. I have had teenage acne and recent adult acne, and will honestly say that I have NEVER come across a better moisturizer. Period. For those of you with similar skin conditions as myself, you can be sure that this product will a. actually moisturize your skin and be SO lightweight while doing so, b. reduce shine TREMENDOUSLY, and c. not clog your pores or irritate your skin.
This is entirely worth the money, and when used as directed, will last up to 5 months. When you see what it does to your skin, you will want to keep buying it regardless of the price. Thank you, Dermalogica!

I have been looking for an oil free lotion for my oily skin. I finally found one after 15 years of switching different moisturisers(The cheapest to the most expensive ones). i use this lotion with the cleansing wash,toner,sebum clearing masque. it leaves skin shine and oil free for the whole day! The natural ingredients is a plus!! Please dont stop making all your wonderful products since your products is the only one that works for me. i will keep using Dermalogica products as long as i live. I LOVE Dermalogica!

I pray that Dermalogica NEVER discontinues this! It's my Holy Grail because it cures my skin problems! My skin gets raw/red from Retin-a and benzoyl peroxide and then typically backfires and makes cystic acne as a result of the irritation and over-treatment. This oil control lotion calms my redness, heals my zits, and sops up oil without over-drying. It's very soothing yet keeps my skin in balance. Since I've been using this I've had no cystic acne and way less oil. It's just lightly moisturizing enough to calm skin, but it's so lightweight that it doesn't over-moisturize. It's perfect for oily, sensitive skin and keeps zits away!
